Eucalan® Woolwash contains natural lanolin, which conditions the wool fibers. It is non-toxic, biodegradable, and free of bleach, phosphates and petrochemicals. Wool wash is for use by hand or machine, and is recommended for many fine fabrics including lingerie. It will help maintain the natural water repellent attributes of wool diaper covers. We've found it to clean more thoroughly than any other natural wool wash we've tried, and it's "no rinse" formula means it is residue free (we recommend a light rinse, though!). Allens Naturally Detergent

Allens' detergent is the one detergent that both Bum Genius and Fuzzi Bunz officially recommend for their pocket diapers, and indeed people have had great success with it. It seems expensive, until you consider that it should last for over two years when used on just pocket diapers (this is because you use just 1/4 of the amount you'd use for regular laundry). Cleans clothing and diapers thoroughly yet is gentle on fabrics, leaving virtually no residue or perfume that can irritate sensitive skin. Shipped directly from the manufacturer (we stock it in our Portland store for local pickup - call to be sure it's in stock).
Babyworks Staff Note: We have since seen that this is a great detergent for washing all types of diapers. It is particularly recommended for fleecy (like Kissaluvs) diapers or diapers containing hemp, whether prefold or fitteds. It keeps them noticeably softer than most other detergents. Highly recommended.

Made of a unique combination of natural live aerobic and anaerobic enzyme cultures with botanical extracts, it is safe and effective for many stain and odor problems. If you're worried about smelly diaper pails, this one's for you! (For a diaper pail soak for cotton diapers (not pocket diapers), add 2 Tbs to 1/3 cup or more depending on the size of your pail.) If you don't soak your diapers, it can be used as a spot treatment; the spray version is great for that.
